Following contact with BMW AG we have had to rename the site to something which does not contain BMW's trademarks. This is why the logo was removed a few eeks ago.
Therefore, as of tonight (28/9) you will be redirected to www.bavarian-board.co.uk.
We were offered one option by BMW legal eagles which was 'board-bmw.co.uk' but we felt that this was too similar to bored-bmw!

Anyhow, the site will remain the same - only the name will be different!

I know that a certain Mr. H. told me that he was planning on reporting the site to BMW AG so at least he can sometimes keep his word.

Apologies for yet another disruption. It wasn't planned and efforts were made to avoid another domain change. However, it is their trademark and they are entitled to protect it and we must respect that.

Plans are underway to develop yet another logo. However, if you think that you can do something special then let us know.
Many thanks
Killian

Its a pity the 'powers at be' can't find something more constructive to do rather than keep having a go at you about this, that and the other, Killian.

Ah i wouldnt worry too much goldryder we'll have the last laugh, much rather be a part of this forum whatever the name. While killian is being productive here and we still have a busy forum the "powers that be" are obviously spending there time cribbing and whinging, i know which site id rather be a part of and am a (small) part of.

With a number of suggestions proposed and subsequently turned down

Really goes to show what <edit>fools</edit> are running the car club. Probably complete begrudgery due to their forums being dead compared to here.

I went and registered bm-board.co.uk (& .com) only to be told that 'BM' is a trademark of BMW AG!
I also registered board-bmw.co.uk just in case it was needed.

What about ourbmforum.co.uk? How can they have BM as a trade mark? They could be initials to anything/anyone.

Have you been in contact with someone from the actual BMW management in Germany? Surely they should be able to see that this site only helps to promote their products at the end of the day. (I know and they know that relatively few of us buy new cars from them but we do help to keep the resale value high, which is one of the main reasons people have for buying a new BMW in the first place).

That's usually one more than most people get!

Who's brown-nosing?

Something involving a brown nose, perhaps?

Or "Mr. H's head in the centre of a dartboard" motif?

Is someone out to destroy this forum?

I've posted a link to this thread on the other club forum. It will be deleted no doubt.

It was also interesting to read the letters in this months club rag (I mean mag).

Howard Walker was trying to make a point about meets in the border area between North East and North West, the editor pretty much shot him down.

What a suprise.

Talk about a closed, inbred forum.

I think its called jealousy..

They just can't handle the fact that this forum is still far more popular than theirs and will remain so too. The more faffing about they cause just makes us all far far stronger and less likely to cower in the corner.

They still haven't realised that they are not taking on Killian...they are taking on every single one of us and they ain't going to win, not now, not ever. Simple innit.
