Thanks Tomas.  I'll be up at some stage - probably just after 3:30.

Dermot has that lens with him for you.

Just got back home, what a brilliant day, 87 miles on the track and I enjoyed every one of them, good to be able to put faces to names and I just want to say well done and a big thanks to those who made it happen.

I enjoyed the day. Im annoyed that my pads wore out by 4pm but I still got out as passenger and also managed to drive Digweeds 525i.
Fun day.

Lads,
thanks for organising the day... looked like it all went well. I only got out for one session myself, had some problems with the car!

Looking forward to October - hopefully I'll get out for the full day next time.

Cheers,
Denis

What happened Denis? I passed when you were thinking of coming back on track and had realised that the front right tyre had gone. Did they tow you back or were you carried?
Any other damage?

Hey Killian,

I was in the white E36 M3 with the black bonnet - one of the radiator clips broke, the rad moved back and one of the pipes off the oil cooler started to rub off a pulley.... I was very very lucky. I'd say another lap or two and it would've worn through one of the metal elbows going into the oil cooler. It could've been a very expensive day!!!

I also had problems with the power steering... it's loosing fluid and I can't see where it's leaking! I was wondering why my arms were knackered after just 15 mins on track!!

It was grand before yesterday, just unlucky I guess!

Thanks for organising the event!
Denis

my day ended abruptly on the first lap of the third session i went out on. heard a loud crack/bang as i was driving through the series of bends at the back of the course, so limped slowly into the pits. got out to check the car out, hoping and praying it was just a piece of debris i'd driven over, but the under carriage of the engine was damp with fresh oil , so decided to call it a day to be on the safe side. car didn't miss a beat all the way home to belfast, and the oil reading is still the same as when i left for dublin yesterday morning, so no idea whats gone bang?

bit gutted it all ended so quickly, as i only got about 12 or so laps in and i was just starting to get a feel for the corners at this stage. many thanks to TJ for the few taster laps at the start, was a big help m8. and sorry to john that he only got half a lap at full pelt in a CSL and half a lap in a broken one.

Well done guys.  Sounds like you all had an eventful and enjoyable day.  Sorry I missed it, but I knew from early on that I wouldn't make the 29th.  Will hopefully make October.

In the photos's I spied a calypso red e30 in the pits.  Anyone know who's car that is?

I agree. He lost it once on that corner though. Wonder what his tyres were
like. Couldn't get mine sideways at all. Not that I would have been keep it
going in the right direction. I'll do some practice in Liffey Valley myself some
night before I replace my back tyres.

Only back in front of the PC now.

Just to add my thanks to Killian & all who helped in organising a great day.

The whole thing was run very smoothly with no hold ups.

TJ - I really felt bad for you - but you took it in really good spirit (at least on the face of it). It reminds us that there is a risk involved in track days - but I've also seen more damage done in supermarket carparks.

I managed a spin myself in my first session at the second part of dunlop but luckily the car ended up heading into the infield out of harms way.

Also, to all the photographers - thanks!

Not a bother on them! They look like i've done 10,000 miles on them rather than 1000 tho!!
