Hopefully it won't be too stressful - i.e. we don't run out of wine  - and I won't be called on to wave my little Yellow Flag.

Sign-on tomorrow at 6pm, back again Monday morning, and all for a payment of £30 (we must be mad). Yeh, ok, and two entry tickets, which allow access to the in-field (no 'plebs' allowed over there  )

My forecast? Ferrari 1 & 2, a McLaren (or BMW ) 3rd - probably not Lewis as I expect him to crash in the middle of the pit-lane this week-end.

At least you got to wave your flags, AT A RED CAR  LOL!!!!!!!!

GO HAMMY!!!

What a race. When the going gets tought, the McLarens get going WOOHOO!

Most of the cars looked like they were on slicks out there, hence the multiple spins of the red bulls and ferrari's not to mention the other 'skaters'

Well done Lewis for a faultless drive, he almost made it look easy!Interesting now as 1,2, & 3 are on the same points and 4th is only 2 behind, game on chaps!!

It's not over until Max Mosely sings hehe!

Mike

I'm disappointed to see that I have dropped but Simon's position makes it alright!

scaremongering by Bernie /FIA?

IIRC Silverstone was warned a few seasons back to get in line with other F1 circuits..so, what's the word then Simon?

IMHO It's not Silverstone that Bernie hates, it's the BRDC who he considers to be the last of the "old-boy blazer brigade GP organisers", he also can't understand why the Government won't invest in a British GP the same way as they will pump millions into the Olympic Games.

So, the FIA have announced that the contract for the BGP in 2010 to 2019 has been given to the Donington lease-holders (Race Organisers), who have a "Secret Backer, willing to invest (upto?) £100M in improving (i.e. trashing and starting again) the Circuit infrastructure.

It has been suggested that the secret backer is BE himself

It is also suggested that BE has bought the Donington Freehold from Tom Wilkinshaw.

If these rumours are true, then he will pay himself to run the GP - a win-win situation

However, if the Donington circuit is NOT ready in 2010 then what happens?

Well, all I can  do is to remind you of a few (many ) years past when Brands Hatch had the licence for the GP but couldn't run it so sold the licence onto the BRDC who ran the race at .................

Silverstone.

This saga will run and run

Cats know your every thought.

But don't care.

Thanks for enlightening us..
I take it the majority of concern is the 'safety factor' of all involved including the spectators/fans and the infrastructure surrounding the circuits?

Nope, the main concern is ....... MONEY!

The spectators at Silverstone are in no more danger than at other GP circuits

The infrastructure as far as access/egress is concerned has improved vastly so it is now easier to move inside the circuit and is easier (normally) to escape - yesterday was a problem because there had been accidents on the M40 (closed) and the A43, but the new by-pass and one-way system normally works fine.

The Pits are a bit "sad"  - but no worse than other circuits the 'circus' goes to.

Silverstone/BRDC have been dragging their heels a bit on improving this area (do a Google to see how long they have been procrastinating on the subject) so it really should come as no surprise that BE/FIA have done what they have done - but whether it actually happens is a completely different matter.

Don't forget that Donington is next to the E Midlands Airport, which will have to close all the time the F1 cars are on circuit.

Also EMA own some of the land inside the Donington perimeter.

And of course planning permission will be required, and new interior and exterior roads built,

It is a very complex subject.

Cats know your every thought.

But don't care.

Why will EMA have to close? Is it because of helicopters (both team and TV) or what?

Yep, whilst F1 is on track there are at least three helicopters in the air for TV, plus if there is an incident a medical helicopter has to be able to move instantly, so they insist on free air-space for all their sessions - Thursday, Friday. Saturday & Sunday !!

Something that I was not aware of .

Fight..fight..fight.fight

http://www.forumula1.net/2008/f1/f1-news/raikkonen-lashes-ou t-at-photographer/

Thought I would add, outstanding drive by Lewis.

Ferrari's strategist needs shooting, although Kimi drove well to bring it home 4th.

Nice to see Rubens on the podium again, Ross Brawn played a blinder.

Just don't know why Kimi never changed his tyres at his scheduled pit stop. Even changing them to new inter/wets would have seen some improvement but, as it happens, the extreme wets were the choice..
At least my chosen league team were on the podium for the first time this year, all thanks to Rubens and Ross..

Double ditto, makes for a VERY interesting second half of the season. Every mistake will be felt by the top four so the teams really have their work cutout. Lets hope for more rainy days so Hammy can shine (sunshine on a rainy day so to speak )
