Got it fixed Tob.

Tommy - can u confirm dates/schedules etc ASAP with committee/Willie. Please note requests for oval track/skid pan as well for drift/skid/oversteer practive. If poss a whole day event like last time would be gr8 as this may be our only track event. If poss also include quarter mile which more could enter I'm sure.

We're still short of 2-3 notes of interest and 5 confirmations in total. However it's early days and pick up has been very good so I'm sure we'll fill the last few places very soon. Worth posting on the NE region forum?

Following still to confirm, of which I can confirm Col's 2002 once dates released.

3. Alanross (PLEASE CONFIRM) NOT PAID

8. 2002EVO (PLEASE CONFIRM) NOT PAID

11. M3Cecotto (JBeattie, Edinburgh, PLEASE CONFIRM) NOT PAID

Unfortunately Sundays is the most likely day for Crail but I'll let Shorty confirm as he's in charge of arrangements.

OK.  Confirm me.  If it turns out I can't go and nobody else wants the place so be it.  I'll pay up front.

Oh, and by the way, I'll bloody "Edinburgh" you. "Glasgow" please.  I'm firmly of the school that believes that the only decent thing to come out of Edinburgh is the Glasgow train.

There we are, can opened.  Worms everywhere.

Would it be worthwhile for the commitee to post a set of BMWCCGB Scottish Region Track Day rules?

My understanding from the last visits was quite clear - no overtaking unless the car in front has indicated to let you past, likewise drivers who have a car behind which is clearly looking to get past MUST move over (and slow down temporarily if reqd). In other words, it's not a race against each other, its a chance to take your own vehicle around a track as fast as you feel comfortable with.

Added benefit is this also allows for drifting competitions at the start corner

If these rules were to change then the risk of damage to your vehicle by someone other than yourself is significantly increased (obviously you can't completely eliminate risk). In which case I wouldn't be taking my motor on.

I'll post up the BDD guidelines I got from Nick Wright for Croft as a start for the committee to approve and a note for the rest of us.

Steve - definitely no racing. Hazardous driving will be cautioned and possibly drivers may be black flaged by organisers.. but it's fair to say all mbrs would be given a longish rope with the aim of encouraging safe driving amongst newbies. You'll remember last time and there were no problems appart from Banzai Wendy..  Like then we'll want to keep it as open and fun as possible but certainly, anyone treating it like NASCAR will be off to have a 'chat'.

For drifting I suggest we run that as a seperate session (especially if we have the whole day). IMHO you want fewer cars on at the same time while everyone runs with wider intervals. If you cross those trying to drive fast laps and those trying to get the back end out on the last hairpin then it could all go a bit pete tong. Remember - we may be able to organise the drag, oval and skid pan as well.
