Joy beckons for West Coast passengers after years of misery
Bad news for regional train passengers in areas such as Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, says transport expert Christian Wolmar. "The railway is absorbing a massive amount of investment and after the general election there may well be a renewal of interest in looking at uneconomic lines and ways of saving money." Overall the rail network will continue to get better but not to pre-Hatfield levels. The Tube will see little improvement but rail passengers on the West Coast Main Line will enjoy a better service and there will be more new rolling stock on southern commuter routes.

have you seen the way they kill foxes,its awful,when people get pleasure out of ripping a animal to bits its sick,i dont like fishing either,when i lived in the Cotswolds the hunt was always on,the riders run across your land like they own it,and the noise is anoying,hurry up with the ban is what i say. Rant over!

I couldnt give a dam regarding the antihunt brigade and animal rights people, just another bunch of do-gooders, a bit of a british trait at the moment!

If people want to hunt thats their problem, I dont, but I dont want to stop others.

Fishing was good fun, but now the kids are older they want to come.

I do like all the pomp that surrounds hunting, its something were good at.

I'm not too easy on giving human sentiments to animals either, but I am a lone voice at home, my wife and daughters support the ban, and unfortunately it was my local idiot mp that started it all.

As everyone knows, I ride when I can with the Clare Hunt in Ireland, having been bitten by the bug back in 2000. I very much regret that I didn't take it up at an earlier age. Despite the colour of my skin (distinctly non-white), I am always made very welcome.

All that I have seen and participated in is to be lost in WCUK. You can find many reasons for this, some salient ones you have just touched on.
