you want {IMG} use [ instead of {.

click and copy, then paste into sig, made it a bit smaller and cropped slightly. Can be a bit clutterd if sig. pic. too big.

I suppose it's all relative . . .  the 635 isn't exactly economical!!!

It would seem not as my '93 316 Lux Touring has (or had) the wheels but not the obc or headrests.

I agree about it being spritely - much quicker than I thought it would be.  Downside is it's a bit noisey if you're tanking on & it drinks like a Geordie on a Friday night.

Doubt if there'd be much difference insurance-wise between a 316 & 318.

My daydream is to fit a 2.0d enginge - 150bhp, chipped to 190bhp with 253lb/ft torque. Enough to scare E30 M3's !

So basicaly the 6 button OBC (on board computer?) is the only addition as my tourer has those features.

Early 316's were 1800 carb engine's, they were replaced in 1988 with the 316i and 318i M40 engined cars.

I thought there was the:-

316i = 1600

318i = 1800

In Germany 316 is 1800 Carb, 318i is 1800 fuel injection

I have a 1992 316i touring. It's not fast but I still overtake most things, given a bit of clear road!

The 1.6 and 1.8 versions of the M40 are identical apart from the bore, and the ECU, so far as I know. There's only 10 bhp difference.

The M10 engine is different, and there were detuned 1.8 engines that were badged as 316.

I don't think the touring was availble with the M10 engine, so your swap should be straight forward. The 318is swap, although possible, is not as simple as the engine management is quite different with 4 coils.

Cheers, Neil
