Hi Ed,

is the 735 stored near slough?

This Sat I am touring round East anglia delivering & collecting items from/for my hoard.

I would love to take the whole car but last time I took a scrapper a neighbour put a nasty anonomous letter thru my door

Please remove some bits from the car and one of us will collect them on behalf of the E23 Hive. Can you keep bits till the weekend of 30th april/1st May?

Would a tenner per item make it worth your while? its mucky work and no fun for a non BMW lover.

For me please:

vacuum actuator as per my earlier posts.

PAS pump.

engine bay relays - small square metal relay mounted on the bulkhead, driver side of car, open the bonnet and you will see it. all the relays in/around the fusebox.

AG wants cruise stalk

Mark wants OBC brain

Who wants other parts guys? eg radiator, A/C bits, Alt.

make it worth Ed's while guys.

Philip yes the 735 is near slough, we are about ten minutes from slough very close to J1 M40 - its actually in my parents drive at the moment which is going down really well as you can imagine!!! and yer for those bits 10 each sounds fine

bits confirmed sold are:

rob  - tow bar (ready to go as of today ), do you want alternator?

mark - ecu for definite. do you want wing mirrors/exhaust?

Philip I take it you def want those bits above i.e.

vacuum actuator

PAS pump

engine bay relays - small square metal relay mounted on the bulkhead, driver side of car, open the bonnet and you will see it. all the relays in/around the fusebox

AG - do you def want the cruise stalk?

anyone else??

took the tow bar off today, and had a good look underneath. looks like it has Koni yellow dampers fitted (dad tells me that it did have about 6k's worth of stuff done to it but unfortunately can't remember what!!! doh!) so thought i should bring these to light.

also has a BMW exhaust in what looks like good condition, but i'm unlikely to be able to get it off without drilling off bolts etc....

erm, the rad and oil cooler? (is that what it is to the sides of it) is in like new condition.......

someone who knows what they are looking at might be better at dropping in and telling everyone what is worth having.

the car is going to the dump on 27th so let me know about any bits ASAP!

I'll have the CC stalk, and does your car have the OBC indicaotor stalk as well? If so I'll have that, plus put me down for the Koni's.
I'll PM you to confirm.

Thanks

Hi Ed,

I can pop over on Sunday 24th if convenient for you?? say around 2pm??

AG, you have beaten me to the Koni's they MUST be saved! To get the koni's off will Ed remove the entire strut/spring assys? If AG is not grabbing the road springs, I will grab 'em if they are not knackered. I reckon VJ's front susp is well soft

Ed, yes please I want the items on my list for sure.

the exhaust MUST be saved if in good nick. keep us posted Ed. If the exhaust will not separate I can put it on my roof rack; I drove from Nottingham to Essex in my E28 with a complete E23 system on the roof!

Ed, is there a decent stereo in it?

Ed, does the rear parcel shelf have speaker pods on it and maybe a pull up sunblind? If so, that should be saved.

What other bits do guys need?

Ed just happens to be a neighbour of mine , so much landfill within a 2 mile radius , it must be illegal .I'm going to peruse the collection , i'll post and tell you fiends whats hot and whats not .The only thing that interests me is  the Blaupunkt and possibly the roof panel and o/s/r door as the car is sapphire blue.

If it's near Hiabboy then it will be a prime location - I
picked a car up once from Iver Heath and there are
some serious houses there.
Also a shocking discplay of Christmas lights in the
'council' area nearby. It was worth getting lost just to
see them!

Imagine the team from Location Location Location
turning up at a house there, and the next door's drive
is full of rusting E23's leaking fluids, various oily
gents hacking bits off a carcass and the buzz of T
Mobiles.

What a lovely day to frag an e23!. I've checked out both turds, 728i and 735i. The 728 is tidy , sapphire with blue velour , it runs well and i believe Ed and his dad are swapping the exhaust from the 735 o nto it and getting an mot for it. The 735 is a real sad turd , even Paul Daniels couldn't fix it BUT it has reasonable bumpers, bonnet and boot, the front lights appear o.k. We've had the engine cranking and trying to fire but there is a fuel issue , we're going to have another play to see if we can get it to run,the inside of the head looks like new . it has a 3 speed box, the rad looks like new, the rear shelf has a 'shagging blind'. The Blaupunkt 'stalk' is now safely in my collection.  I'll keep you sickos informed if we get the turd running

Profit is more reasonable than justice.

ok sunday sounds good, but Philip and others, the time is going to have to be earlier if you want to take bits off (perhaps 11.00 depending how long u think it will take), as I have to be gone by 3.30pm latest.

as you realise by the above comment, i havn't had a chance to take anything else off (only tow bar), so anyone wanting my help to take stuff off sunday is welcome, but I don't have time to do it before then, or after - sorry. the other thing is i don't know these cars and without a manual am not going to get what things are! so anyone coming either bring yr knowledge or manual and we can sort this!

cheers

Ed

Rob, are you going to Ed's on Sunday? If so, we could travel together maybe? Let me know your plans.

Rob is the expert spanner man here, so i hope he's up for it.
