Ahhh, been wondering what a moonroof was. I grew up in south london and metal ones were safer. Why moon? Is visibility better at night? |

Philip, he may be getting the best of your e23s but I reckon the e28 is a very sweet car - then again I'm a bit biased!

I can only assume glass being opposite to metal, moon being opposite to sun. Know what I mean innit! Doive, how's the brakes now, they sorted yet? Have you changed the 'bomb'? Edited by Tetleysmooth |

thanks for that Doive. you may be interested to learn that my E28 is getting a "make over" right now. works include: they have fitted & sprayed the used wing I supplied, plus fitted new rear bumper, removed manky old pinstripes, cut back and polished the paint all over to remove "gritty" finish from previous respray. its looking real clean now, and andy says its worth £1500. dream on!! its going to have gen BMW twin pinstripes in silver, should look very tasty. plus M-Tech sports interior being fitted. the only thing missing then will be a 3.5 motor??? I will post up some pics when its finished, so you guys can flame or praise it, as appropriate!

It looks good.
BUT: Those wheels are absolutley awful. Did they come from an Opel Corsa in Max Power? Refit the originals NOW!! Sorry, but modern wheels look very bad on an old car. A set of 15 inch E34 alloys are best. |

Man I looove the looks of a nice e28 - and that is a very very nice e28.
Not 100% sure about the wheels - different certainly, but perhaps not in keeping with the shark nosed design?? Just my opinion mate, keep them if they are to your tastes! If I remember correctly yours used to sit on a very nice set of cross spokes. One of the guys on here (can't remember who now) recently got himself a set of multi spoke alpina style jobbies, they looked the absolute business on the e28 - even made me think about getting a set for mine. As I say, she is your car mate and the choice is yours! Other than that, or perhaps I should more correctly say even with that she looks absolutely superb. Keep up the good work. I'm always cautious about being critical of someone else's car - I've seen the damage it does on other forums. |

I concur with Doive. Philip, the wheels aren't my first choice, as you know I prefer BBS cross, but it's entirely your choice and if you like them thats fine. Classic cars are a very individual thing, no two owners are likely to want identical cars, if we did we'd all buy new ones!

My jury is still out on those rims. I am still mulling them over. For the set of 4 rims with excellent 225/55/16 tyres I paid £36, ie £9 per corner, not a bad deal I think. I will give them time to grow on me before I think about removing them. I appreciate all your views, I don't expect everyone to like everything. What a boring uniform world it would be if everyone was the same. Have a great weekend all. |
