Only programme I watched with a sort of humourous side to it in this vein was Ballykisangel..or how ever its spelt.

Watched two of those and never again...

Much prefer documentaries and such like to alternative comedy.

Father Dougal: Ready Ted? Let's do it!
Father Ted: Dougal, don't take it so seriously, it's just a bit of fun.

[pause..... Pope John Paul II souvenir clock runs on..... cut back to bedroom which is now smoke-filled; empty lager cans and screwed-up paper strewn over carpet]

Father Ted: Just play the f*****' note!
Father Dougal: The first one?
Father Ted: [angry, yelling] NO! Not the f*****' first one! The f*****' first one's already f*****' down! Just play the f*****' note you were f*****' playing earlier! I've been playin' the f*****' first one! We have the f*****' first one!

I thought Ballykissmyar** was supposed to be a drama series (i.e. soap opera)??
