Brake Fluid Query!

   Brake Fluid!

Just before I pour it in, thought I should check! 1989 5 2.5 i. Quote from  the �owners handbook� �Dash down to your value for money �BMW Dealer� as if!!  Information available at HALFORD�S. �Brake fluid! What does it do?� 

So I bought a pot of HALFORD�S high performance Brake & Clutch Fluid ( DOT 5.1 non-silicone base) Which must not be used with said silicone based fluid or where mineral based fluids are specified!)  So I sit there scratching my head wondering whether its ok to carry on pouring? 

 Can anyone help?
