If anyone watched QI the other night, you'll know what MR2 means (and why they aren't sold in France)

Morning peeps, hope all are well and in good spirits today. Been busy on sorting other things out lately, hence not being here much.

Just 62 days til my adventure, and 343 days til I have something else planned, another adventure.

Decided that setting goals is a damn good way to stay positive about things, its great to have something to work towards IMHO.

Anyway, have a brilliant and safe day whatever you are doing

I don't always plan in advance but on this occasion for next year, I decided to, basically cos the cost was within reach - just. Seeing as I don't have a car to swallow money now nor do I smoke or drink anymore and all the household bils were paid in advance for several months, I am setting targets for myself by way of new travelling adventures.

So yesterday I booked myself on a trip next September that will be tremendous fun and although I have a finishing point to it, that might be out of the question if where I am going has any problems with hurricanes, as its right in the middle of hurricane season for that region.

As with most things, it will be down to good old Mother Nature.

Ah but only for 6 hours

A flying visit to Houston via Galveston after getting off the ship from a little trip across the Atlantic from Dover, calling at Le Havre, La Coruna, Madeira and Miami. 17 days aboard ship...all for 100 a day full board, including overnight flight from Houston, connecting flights from Leeds and coach from Heathrow to the ship at Dover

I have the use of a hotel room for the day at the North Houston Sheraton. The flight home is in the evening that I arrive in Galveston/Houston so not sure what I will be able to see in such a limited amount of time.

I will arrive in Houston on Oct 7th, so not sure if the weather will be so hot as that. However it does remain a possibility that if a hurricane or two are in the area, as Katrina and Rita were this year, I could end up absolutely anywhere on the east coast of the US or Canada

hmmm..that means mixed packing again then..warm for the European side of the Atlantic and more summery for the US side...

I got everything sorted for my South America cruise in December, so pretty much the same range of clothing for the Transatlantic cruise then
