Like everything else, it needs practise.

Lots & lots of very good training out there for peanuts.

How about ( this is never going to happen, but here goes), any current licenced drivers will have their entitlement to drive removed on 31/12/06, unless they can produce a recognised advanced driving certificate.

That tough enough for you ?

12 months is a bit tight to get everyone through testing!  Right idea though.  Can you imagine the bliss on the roads.  Assuming I passed

May I organise you an assessment drive ?

You don't give up, do you!

The problem with doing things on a voluntary basis is that the people who need it won't do it.  I myself would probably benefit greatly from advanced driving, but I won't do it until I'm forced.  Not because I disagree with it, but because I'm terrible at putting things off and not making time to do things.

I was offered a discounted IAM course a couple of years ago as I was under 21.... £30!!! I thought he was taking the michael, so I left it.

Should have just bought it. It's now £80 and I keep hinting at relatives around birthday time because I really want to do it...

Good for you.

Here's hoping someone invests in a life skill for you come next birthday.
My views expressed are just that.
Mine & mine alone.

I don't think they will... ^ as above, I am quiet useless at arranging things and when my dad said to me "What do you want for xmas?" I said "An Advanced driving course" (Not that seeing M3 after M3 smashed up on Fab Direct wasn't a sobering sight)

Maybe sometime this year (when the roads are a bit warmer)
