True... we'll see what tomorrow brings, and then Sunday.

But how can someone  be fastest, or one of the fastest, repeatedly, in sector one and the post 11th fastest time, surely full tanks would affect a whole lap not just the last two sectors.

Kimi Raikkonen snatched Spanish Grand Prix pole position from crowd favourite Fernando Alonso in a spectacularly close-fought session at Barcelona.

The world champion pipped the resurgent Renault star by less than a tenth of a second, as both pushed provisional polesitter Felipe Massa down to third in the second Ferrari.

But McLaren's difficult weekend continued as Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen had to settle for fifth and sixth, behind Robert Kubica's BMW.
