It really depends what size wheels you intend to run on it, r u keeping the 17"s??
I should imagine 7.5x16 would def fit, so all smaller wheels will fir. Not sure if u can go bigger than that as spare - someone on here should know. Just one other point, the spare wheel acts as part of the rear impact protection - oh don't u also have to have one for MOT??? HTH, James |

The spare wheel well seems only to hold a 6.5" or less rim. I have a 15x7" and it causes the carpet to bulge a little.

Just stick a 14" steel in there, that'll be sufficent.

The spare wheel doesn't act as part of the impact protection. The wheel well might, as part of a crumple zone (akthough this too is very unlikely), but the wheel just happens to sit there. It is not fixed securely enough (if at all) to be of any use in a crash. Regarding the MOT, you don't have to have one to pass the test, but if you do have one, it needs to be suitable for the use it is intended for, and in good condition - i.e. no tyres doing a 'Kojak' impression. |
