Just a big thanks to everyone who came down to Dastek yesterday.. it was a l8 night but a grand chance to meet everyone and catch up.. gr8 selection of cars.. highlights for me;

M635csi.. simply brilliant. So rarely do we see these cars these days.. as most are locked in Howard's garage.

The sound of Malcs E39.. best sounding car of the day... better V8 sound than the M5.. I put it down to that bad-boy single exit pipe myself.

The onslaught of power.. that is the E39 M5 until the ecu played silly beggars..Still 320 @ the wheels at only 5500rpm..

Seeing Col's superb 2002tii.. probably the best turned out car of the day. Power-to-weight is just craaaaazeeee.

Chris excellent 325ti.. beautifully finished and the best sounding six-pot of the day IMHO. and 215bhp v.respectable. GruppeM power all the way m8!!!

Seeing everyone's face when Wendy's E30 (on supermarket 95) ran the best M3 figures of the day... go figure

Jim's M5 just being on the road..

Looking fwd to more pics.. I know Neil took a load.

Best 2 all.

Jonny

Jonny

I completely filled a 128Mb card - 85+ photos and 4 movie clips (close-ups of different types of wheels on the rollers).

It will take me a while to edit pics (remove number plates/crop etc).

I don't think Webdunk is available at the moment to update the website. However, if anyone wants copies of the raw pics, email/PM me with your email address and I'll send them to you. (Note raw pics are 1Mb in size, so will take a long time to recieve if you are using a 56k modem )

Will do m8.. I still think it was the AFM and hence no sign of the problem on the road. Still worth checking oil level etc over weekend. I reckon with a re-map you'll be in 215-220 territory. Eisemanns sounded sweet!

Just want to say thanks Jonny for organising the event it was brill got a chance to see if all the mods were worth it....A really nice selection of cars and putting faces to cars....The 2002ti is so sweeet

Hummm mark bad **** 328 had a mighty chance of whipping the 325ti **** if he was able to access the remaining 1,000rpm, it was well close...

Round 2!!!! think I'll get the middle box taken out or stick some racing cats in to see if it will freeflow it abit to get the ACS exhaust working that bit hard

Just a note when i started the car again my air sensor light came up had this problem before when i had the std airbox and removed the protection screens. Got told I buggered the air flow sensors got it replaced under warranty by Eastern lucky for the warranty the total bill came to Ł300 quid

I think because the gruppeM is located at the side instead of getting air from the front kidneys its not getting enough air stucked in compared to on the road....Lucky when I left the place booted it down the road and the fault fault went out....but not driven the car since Dastek so hav to wait and see...

take care guys...

Only system better than Eisemann is GruppeM and that's 0000's.. Schnitzer are great for sound but are not the best engineered albeit one of the better systems.. if you hadn't listened to my advice you wouldn't be sitting in a bimmer boy.. so thank your lucky days when you moved across from me.. your bank manager will also be suitable grateful and I expect some sort of freebie pen or diary....

Losing to Tigger had nowt to do with exhausts m8.. but if it makes you feel better m8.. does it hurt.. how does it feel to have been wooped by a younger man.. is your 328 still smarting from the can of woopass opened on it from Chris' 325ti...

Who knows.. that re-map may just do the trick..

I think it was the lucky tigger on the dashboard which gave me the edge....Well I've passed the remapper details on for mark and the tuning concept quote these figures for both cars:

BMW Serie 3 (E46) 2.5 i Siemens MS43 193 215 245 275
BMW Serie 3 (E46) 2.8 i Siemens MS42 194 216 280 310

Looking at the figures when Mark ACS gets the remap his car will have the edge...

Ohh not forgotten about you either johnny not sure if u got the newer M3 engine in ur beast..But i think with mods you've done it already past those figures....

BMW Z3 Roadster 3.2 M Siemens MSS50 321 342 350 380
BMW Z3 Roadster 3.2 M Siemens MSS54 325 353 354 389

Okie tigger bounce bk to his diss...nearly finished

Hi Chris,

Interesting.. I've seen a lot of wild 3.2 claims. Ask yourself this.. the CSL only puts out 360bhp (355) and that's with revised cam, valve, internals, CF airbox, AFM bypass.. so 389..?

I'm a little sceptical of the top line figures m8.. the cars would have to be running extremely rich to achive them without mods.. and the curves will become spikier as you push up the peak power.. likely shortening the power band, enducing flat spots (likely pinking)...

An ECU map up to say 15% is v.feasible from a good mapper by making the ecu map specific to the engine and reduce the tolerances dialed in by the manufacturer. It was reassuring to see that you got your 215bhp Tim but I'd be v.surprised if the higher output figs are a) achievable and b) achievable without detrimenting the engine over the long term.

Have they indicated that the re-map is undetectable..??

BR,

The Power Doctor

P.S: I'm running 345 on std map and 350 with uni-chip. Will re-map once I get the airbox..

Thx for clearing up Chris.. at first it looked like the figures were various stages but instead the second pair of figures are for torque.. you rightly guess that I'm already hitting these figures and aiming more for the 360+ mark now.

Interestingly enough I found out that the M is making 1lbft (yes 1!!) less than a 360M and at 2000rpm further down the rev range.. if only the M displaced the same weight... but should prove useful on track if I can get on cam nicely behind a 360M and let the torque do the talking.. Idealyl I still want to put out 300lbft, which is nearer speed-6 TVR country.

I've just been looking on dastek's site, but it seems to be under construction, i know the RR session was 40 quid, but how much for a re-map? What sort of results are to be expected from a 320?

So come on guys what figures did everyone get???
