   our official booklet came through the letterbox and went straight in the bin

i think theres only one thing that you can really do in the event of a life-threatening emergency -

1.  stand up straight and tall with your legs splayed

2.  bend over as if going to touch your toes, being careful to bend at the waist and not at the knees

3.  when your head is about thigh-height, poke your head as best you can through the gap in your legs...
