Hi all, I have a new problem (Yay for the 6 series!)

My drivers window has completely stopped working. Initially it slowed down, and then stopped, but would work if "assisted" by one hand, whilst operating the switch with the other (not recommeded when driving!). Now it wont work at all.

I guess I need to get a replacement motor, or recon the broken one, but this might take me a while to source - the guy at Fritzs bits laughed at me when I asked if he had one - then said he can probably find one.

My question is this: are all four window motors the same? If so I will swap the drivers motor with one of the back ones for now, as a back window not working wont stop me getting car park tickets etc.

And so says Jimbob.

I am NOT a mechanic. But I do seem to recall that the front and rear motors are different -- I had to do a set. In fact, I may still have some somewhere. I'll have a look. PM me if you haven't heard from me by Sunday night.
Ciao,
Spokey

righto, had the door panel off, and the motor myraculously started working perfectly before I had even touched it. I'm guessing a loose connection or some trim on too tight or something in the way etc. Weird but fine for now...
